Which book is better in English for CGL, SSC CHSL?

Some best books name are given below which will help you for English preparation.

  • Objective General English by S P Bakshi (Arihant)
  • High School grammar by Wren and Martin
  • Plinth to Paramount by Neetu
  • Previous Year questions of SSC by Kiran Parkashan
  • Word Power made easy by Norman Lewis
  • Quick learning Objective General English by RS Aggarwal & Vikas Aggarwa

Before going to exam centre you must carry the  CGL and SSC CHSL Admit Card.

To improve your vocabulary, you should always try to speak English and for reading ability, read daily English newspapers like – Hindustan Times, Times of India etc.

Vocabulary contains mainly one words and idioms and phrases. For them you can use any book or download PDFs from internet. Learn 10 One Words and 10 Idioms daily…That’s enough for this.

Solve Previous Years’ question papers and mock test daily to know the paper pattern and weightage of the questions. If you are solving the previous papers daily then you will improve your solving time and at a time you will attempt almost all question in 2 hours.

Write at least 200-300 words daily on any topics to improve your grammar.

Hope it help you to get the good marks in SSC CHSL Result and cgl result..

Thank You!!

  • 2 cases.

1st If you have time start with some basic book like SP Bakshi (Arihant Publication), for vocabulary go for Word power made easy.

2nd you can directly go for Plinth to Paramount by Neetu Singh (*Prefer latest edition) and if possible take both the volumes.

After this in both cases you need to practice previous years question from Kiran publication PYQ or can go for MB publications.

Also if you want to score more read Newspaper daily.
